I've found a book in Primo - where is it in the library?

 

 

Or follow these instructions

• Check where the book is located. In this case it is in the Hugh Owen Library on Level F
  

• Make a note of the classmark, in this case PR8999.G85.G8

• On each floor of the libraries there is a floor plan outlining where books and journals are located. We have plans online for Hugh Owen Library and Physical Sciences Library

• Check the floor plan and go to that area. In this case the classmark begins with P

• Look at the stack guides on the end of each shelf. These are in classmark order. 

• When you have found the one indicating the range that includes your classmark, look along that shelf until you reach the exact classmark to find the book.

• For further information, ask a member of staff.

Some items are not located in the main classmark sequence, e.g. Celtic Collection, Contemporary Fiction. Look out for these on the floor plans. 

Some items are not on the open shelves and you need to request them on Primo e.g. Rare Books, books in the External Store.
