How do I backup my e-mail Digital ID?

You should make a backup copy of your Digital ID, in case your computer fails or is replaced.

Please save the backup copy to a folder on your University Filestore (M: drive) ( Where do I find that? )

• Use the search bar by the Start button to find and open Internet Options
  
  

• Select the Content tab and click on Certificates :
  

• From the Personal tab, select your Digital ID and click on Export

• This will open the export wizard, click Next

• Select Yes, Export the private key and click Next

• Select only Include all certificates in the certificates path if possible and click Next

• Enter a password (Alphanumeric password containing no more than 10 characters to protect this certificate while it is being moved) and click Next

• Enter a file name and a location to save the exported file (e.g. M:\mydigitalid.pfx )

• Click Finish
