How do I complete the Create or Create and add to List forms in Aspire?

When you manually create an item in Aspire you are asked to choose between Create and Create and Add to List.

Click Create if you want to add a bookmark for later addition to a list ( How do I do that? )

Click Create & Add to List to immediately add your bookmark to an existing list.

  • Click Create and Add to List

  • Select the reading list you want to add the item to

  • Click a button to place the item at the top or at the bottom of the list. You can always rearrange your list later

  • Click The list menu if you want to add the item to a section in your list (e.g. Week 1 Seminar or Week 1 Lecture) ( How do I do that? )

  • Add any notes for your students

  • You MUST select the importance of the book as Essential or Further reading ( Why is this important? )

  • Add any notes for library staff - if you have added a chapter or article which needs digitising and uploading to the Blackboard module, you MUST add to the Note to library: Please digitise

  • Click OK

  • To see the item in your list, click My Lists and select the list you have added the item to

To make the item visible to your students and to notify library staff for purchasing, publish your list ( How do I do that? )
