How do I export my emails? (Outlook)

Exporting your emails can only be done from Microsoft Outlook on a computer. You will only be able to open your exported emails in Microsoft Outlook on another computer. Staff and students can install Microsoft Office on their computer for free which includes Microsoft Outlook. Your license for Microsoft Office will expire when you leave the University

  • Open Microsoft Outlook
  • Click File at the top-left
  • Click on Open & Export then Import/Export
  • Click Export to a file
  • Select Outlook Data File (.pst)
  • Click the arrow next to your email address to see all your folders. Click on the folder you want to export. If you click on your email address then it will export all folders
  • Select the backup file location. By default, the file will be saved to your Documents folder. You can find the file in this folder after the export is completed
  • Click Finish and wait for the export to finish
