How do I add an announcement to my Blackboard module? (Staff)

Announcements can be used to keep students up-to-date with changes to the module, important dates, such as deadlines, or useful information.

When a student logs in to Blackboard they will immediately see any new announcements for each module.

  • From the Control Panel, select Course Tools, then Announcements.
  • Click on  Create Announcement.
  • Add the subject and message of the announcement in the first section of the page.
  • Under section 2 you can set the dates between which the announcement will appear, or you can set the announcement to be permanent.
  • The Course link section allows you to add a link to a particular section of the module. This may be useful if you are announcing the addition of new material in the module itself.
  • Click on Submit and the announcement will be added.
