The book I ordered for the library in Aspire does not link to Primo - how do I fix that?

When a book is ordered by AU library staff, a record appears on Primo in readiness for the arrival of the book.

You can use the following instructions to link a book on Primo to a record on an Aspire reading list whether the book has arrived in the library or not.

  • Visit Primo
  • Find the book you have ordered and click on the title
  • At the end of the URL of the page you are on, type &showPnx=true and press Enter
  • URL of book found in Primo
  • From the page that appears copy or make a note of the mms (or lds29) number

  • Sign in to Aspire ( How do I do that? )
  • Visit the appropriate list
  • Open the record you want to link to and click Edit Metadata
    edit metadata button in Aspire
  • In the Lookup menu select LCN , paste the mms number into the box and click Lookup
LCN lookup menu in the Aspire edit metadata form
  • Click Save

Links to library holdings will now show in the Aspire record whether the book has arrived or not. Physical books on order normally show as On loan; sign into Primo to see more details.
