My VOIP phone has dark patches on the screen. What can I do?

If your new phone is experiencing problems with dark patches on the display:

This is due to the contrast of the phone being set too highly, to rectify this problem please do the following:

• Press the Globe button
  
• Select Settings(3) using the button
• Select User Preferences(1)
• Select Contrast (4) using the button
• The following screen will be shown
  
• Press the button below the word Down until the screen returns to normal, the black mark on the line should now be just above the word Up as in the picture below
  
• Press the button below the word Save to save the new contrast settings
• Press the button below the word Exit three times to take you back to the normal phone display
