How do I set up my computer to use the University wireless network (Windows)?

  • You can set up your computer to use the University wireless network eduroam quickly and easily by using the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool

  • Staff devices that are NOT centrally managed will have internet access only when connecting to eduroam and will need to connect to the GlobalProtect VPN service for full access to AU resources.

Or you can use the manual instructions:

  • Use the search box at the top-right of Control Panel to find and open Network and Sharing Centre
  • Click Set up a new connection or network
  • Click Manually connect to a wireless network then Next
  • Enter the network name eduroam then select WPA2-Enterprise and click Next
  • Click Change connection settings
  • Select WPA2-Enterprise with AES
  • Select Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) then click Settings
  • Un-tick the box Verify the server's identity by validating the certificate then click Configure
  • Un-tick the box Automatically use my Windows log-on name and password
  • Click OK then OK again to return to the Wireless Network Properties Window and click Advanced settings
  • Tick the box Specify authentication mode and select User Authentication
  • Click Save credentials then enter your University email address and password
  • Click OK and Close out of all open menus
  • Your computer will connect to eduroam automatically
