How do I create rules for filtering and refiling my email? (Outlook)

  • Open Outlook
  • Select Home Tab
  • Click Rules
  • Click Manage Rules & Alerts

  • To create a new rule, select New Rule...

  • Select the rule template you would like to use from Step 1
  • Edit the rule description by clicking the underlined text in Step 2

  • Press Next
  • Select Conditions, Actions and any Exceptions completing Step 1 and 2 in the following windows
  • In the Finish Rule Setup window:
    • Step 1: Give the rule a name
    • Step 2: Choose rule options
    • Step 3: Review the rule

  • Select Finish
