How do I add a table of figures in Microsoft Word?

To create a table of figures in Word you must have added captions to the images in your documents (How do I do this?).

  • To add a table of figures to a document, click into where you want it to appear. Then select the References tab and Insert Table of Figures .

  • Click Options
  • In the Build table of figures from dropdown menu, select Caption.
  • You can either select one of the Formats provided from the dropdown list, or modify one to suit your needs. Then click on OK to create the table of figures.
