How do I create a template in Microsoft Word?
You can create a template and modify the style settings in it prior to creating a range of documents that you want to format consistently.
-
Open a new file and click on Save.
-
In the Save as type dropdown menu choose Word Template and provide a meaningful filename e.g. essay-template. Click Save.
-
Modify any Styles that you are going to use in the range of documents you are going to create, to suit your preferred document layout (How do I do that?).
-
Save and close the template.
You can then create a new document using this template ( How do I do this? )
