What do I need to do if I am returning to Aber as a postgraduate?

If you are graduating this summer but are returning to Aber as a postgraduate for the next academic session you will keep the same email account as you had for your undergraduate studies.

When your postgraduate application has been processed your email account will automatically become a postgraduate account. As long as this happens before 31 August you should experience no gap in computing access.

However you should note the following:

• Your Aberystwyth University email account
  Will remain unchanged. All your existing emails, calendars and contacts will still be available to you.
• Your Aber Card
  You will need a new Aber card for your postgraduate studies. When your postgraduate account comes through you will be emailed asking you to apply for a new postgraduate Aber card. You will be given the opportunity to provide a new photo or confirm that you are happy to use the existing photo for your new card.
• Your library accountYou should return all library loans issued to you as an undergraduate before then end of your final term as an undergraduate. Your library borrowing account ends before your computing account and you may see a break in library access. As a postgraduate you will have advanced borrowing privileges (Where can I find out more about these?) but these are not available to you until you postgraduate record has been processed. You can check for any items you have on loan are by logging into Primo and clicking on My Account . You will be invoiced for any items that are not returned.
• Fines and outstanding debts Please check My Account on Primo for any outstanding debts. You should pay all outstanding debts, including any invoices issued to you ( How do I do that? )
• Your access to online library resourcesWhile your computing account remains active you should retain access to the range of online library resources including e-books, full-text journal articles and databases available via annual subscription from the University library budget.
• Your University filestore (M Drive)
  Will remain unchanged while your account is active.
• Your Blackboard account?
  Your modules will remain accessible to you over the summer, while your computing account is active. At some point your undergraduate modules will be removed from your Blackboard account so please ensure you back up any documents or assignments you wish to keep ( How do I do that? )
• Your Printing/Photocopying credit
  Your printing/photocopying credit will remain on your account for use during your postgraduate studies.
