How do I access my archived mail?
Instructions for reading your archived mail depends on the format your archived mail is in:
Zipped folder containing .eml files
- Unzip the zip file(s) to your hard drive ( How do I unzip files? )
- Open Windows Mail:
- Right click on Local Folders and select New Folder …
- In the Create Folder dialogue box, enter a name for the folder and select Local Folders in which to create the new folder.
- Click OK
- Select the folder you created
- Copy and paste the .eml files from your unzipped archive into this folder
- You should now be able to read the emails
.pst files
- If you archived your email from the computer at which you are sat you should still be able to read your emails through Outlook. Outlook stores archived emails in a folder called Archived Folders, which should be visible in your folder list:

For example a pen drive or CD, you will need to use the import function in Outlook:
- Go to File and Import and Export
- Choose to Import from another program or file and click Next
- Select Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next
- Click on Browse and navigate to where your file is stored and select it
- Choose the folder to import from
- Select the folder the import to
- Click Finish
