How do I map a drive to my SharePoint site?

  • Log in to https://sharepoint.aber.ac.uk/
  • Go to the SharePoint site
  • Open the document library / folder you want to access from your computer
  • Click on the Sync button at the top of the list of files (If you can’t see the sync button, click on … or ‘More’ to see more options)
  • The button looks a little different in classic and modern views:
    • Classic view:

  • If your browser requests permission to use "Microsoft OneDrive," confirm that this is okay.
  • The files then sync to a folder on your PC called ‘Aberystwyth University’. This folder is automatically added to the left pane in File Explorer.

  • Each new document library or folder that you sync will be added to this same location
  • If you need to change the document libraries or folders that you are syncing in future:
    • Right click on the blue OneDrive cloud icon in the Windows taskbar notification area (you may need to click on the ^ to show hidden icons)
    • Click on the cog in the top right of the OneDrive window that pops up and choose ‘Settings’

    • In the Microsoft OneDrive settings screen you will see all the locations that you are syncing

    • Click on ‘Choose folders’ to make changes to the location or click ‘Stop sync’ to stop syncing the location
    • Click the OK button to finish
