How do I insert a table into a web page in the CMS?

  • Click on the name of the section.
  • Click on the Content tab.
  • Find the appropriate piece of content where the table should be added.
  • Click on the name of the content to open it.
  • Create a blank line where you wish your table to be created and place your cursor in the line.
  • Click on the Table menu.
  • Choose which kind of table you want to use:
    • Insert table with column headings
      This will create a new table with a header row across the top. Choose the number of rows and columns by selecting squares in the grid - move your mouse across the grid until it is the correct size, then click to insert the table.

    • Insert table with column and row headings
      This will create a new table with a header row across the top and a header column on the left. Choose the number of rows and columns by selecting squares in the grid - move your mouse across the grid until it is the correct size, then click to insert the table.

  • The table will now appear in the editor, with holding text in the header row/column:

  • Click on the cells in the header row/column to replace the holding text with your chosen header text.
  • Click into the empty cells to add your data.
  • If you wish to add a caption or summary to your table, right click in the table and choose 'Table caption/summary)' from the menu that appears, and fill out the relevant boxes.

  • To edit your table after it is inserted you can add or remove columns and rows using the appropriate parts of the Table menu (which can also be accessed by right clicking in the table).
  • Click the 'Save changes' button in to save your work.

Note: In order for the change to go live the content will need to be approved.
