How do I change the order of items in my left menu in the CMS?
This is only possible if you are a Moderator level user. If you are not a Moderator, please ask one of the Moderators in your department or contact Information Services.
- Log in to the CMS at https://cms.aber.ac.uk/.
- Find the parent page where you want the left menu order to be changed in the CMS site structure (How do I do that?).
- Click on the name of the section.
- Click on the 'More' tab and choose 'Child sections' from the menu that appears.
- You'll see a list of all the sub-sections within this parent section:
- To reorder the subsections, click on the move icon to the left of the subsection you want to move, and drag it to the new position.
- It is also possible to have the subsections ordered automatically. To enable this, turn on 'Enable automatic ordering' at the top right and choose the appropriate type of ordering from the drop-down that appears below
- After selecting the method, select all of the subsections you wish to automatically order by ticking the relevant boxes to the far right (if you want to select all of them, click the box at the top).
- Click on the 'Bulk actions' button and choose 'Bulk unlock'
- The selected subsections will now be ordered automatically according to the method you chose.
- When you preview the main section page, you will see that the navigation in the left menu has changed to reflect your reordering.
