Ive received my Document Supply item. Why does it say Reference Use Only?

Some Document Supply items will be for 'Reference Use Only'. This is stipulated by the lending library who have lent us the item on the condition that it must be kept in a safe place and that it can only be consulted within the library. We do not know until the item arrives whether it will be for 'Reference Use Only' or not.
