How do I delete a sub-site in SharePoint?

  • Go to the sub-site that you wish to delete
  • Check that you have copied any data that you will need in future from the site
  • Click on the Cog symbol and choose Site Settings 

  • In the 2nd block of the 2nd column, click on 'Delete this site' under the 'Site Actions' heading
  • You will be given information about the site and what will be lost when you delete it: 

  • Click the Delete button on the right
  • A message will appear, asking if you are sure
  • Click OK to confirm the deletion
  • You will see the confirmation screen to finish:
