What is the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA)?

The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) is a licensing body as defined by the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988. Library staff are permitted to digitise chapters and articles from most books and journals of the University Libraries and make them available electronically under the terms of the  CLA Higher Education Licence.
