How do I read and print from a Cambridge Core e-book I have found in Primo?
Read a Cambridge Core E-book
- Sign in to Primo before conducting any search for Online Resources
- Find the chapter you would like to read and below the chapter title, click either PDF (if you would like to view the chapter as a PDF) or HTML (if you would like to view the chapter as a webpage)
To Download a Chapter
- Firstly, find the chapter you would like to download
- Click on the PDF link below the chapter title
- A new tab should open displaying a PDF of the chapter you have selected; to save to your computer, either right click on the e-book and select Save as... and select a location to save the document, or click on the Download button in the top right corner of the page and save to your computer
For Full Download
- For full download or to download multiple chapters, tick the boxes next to each chapter title (or the ones you would like to download)
- On the left hand menu, select Download PDF (zip)
- Click Confirm in the pop up window
- A zip file will be downloaded to your computer, containing PDF versions of the chapters you selected for download
- It is also possible to send to your Kindle, Dropbox or Google Drive
Printing From a Cambridge Core E-book
- Firstly, find the chapter you would like to download
- Click on the PDF link below the chapter title
- A new tab should open displaying a PDF of the chapter you have selected; either right click on the e-book and select Print... or click on the Print button in the top right corner of the page
Advice on Off-Campus Access for Cambridge Core E-books
- On the Cambridge Core website, click the Login button in the top right of the webpage
- Click on Log in via Shibboleth or Athens
- Select UK/UK Federation from the Federation list and wait for the list of institutions to load in the right hand box
- Select Aberystwyth University from the Institution list
- Click the Select button below the two lists
- It is also possible to search for Aberystwyth University in the search box and selecting Aberystwyth University from the results and then clicking the Select button
- Alternatively, you can set up a VPN which bypasses the need to sign in. More information can be found here.
