How do I read and print from a JSTOR e-book I have found in Primo?

Read a JSTOR E-book

  • Sign in to Primo before conducting any search for Online Resources

  • To read the e-book through your web browser, select the chapter you would like to read and click the Read Online link below the chapter title and description

  • When viewing the e-book, if you would like to view a different chapter, scroll down the left hand menu and click on the chapter title you'd like to view to read it

 

To Download a Chapter

  • To download a chapter, first select the chapter you would like to download using the above instructions
  • When viewing the chapter, click on the Download PDF button in the top right of the page

  • In the pop up window, click I accept, proceed to download (once you have read JSTOR's terms and conditions)

  • A new tab should open displaying a PDF of the chapter you have selected; to save to your computer, either right click on the e-book and select Save as... and select a location to save the document, or click on the Download button in the top right corner of the page and save to your computer

 

Printing a JSTOR E-book Chapter

  • To print a chapter, first select the chapter you would like to print using the above instructions
  • When viewing the chapter, click on the Download PDF button in the top right of the page

  • In the pop up window, click I accept, proceed to download (once you have read JSTOR's terms and conditions)

  • A new tab should open displaying a PDF of the chapter you have selected; either right click on the e-book and select Print... or click on the Print button in the top right corner of the page Advice on Off-Campus Access for a JSTOR e-book E-books

 

Advice on Off-Campus Access for JSTOR E-books

  • Below the Table of Contents heading, click on Log in to your personal account or through your institution
  • Click on the Find My Institution button
  • Type Aberystwyth University into the search box and click Search
  • Click on Login next to Aberystwyth University Prifysgol Aberystwyth in the search results
  • You will be prompted for your Aber username and password via Shibboleth
  • Alternatively, you can set up a VPN which bypasses the need to sign in. More information can be found here.
