How do I use the Cisco 1815 access point in my room?

Some rooms have a Cisco 1815 access point in them, instead of a regular ethernet socket.

  • These access points broadcast WiFi and are in place to provide consistent WiFi access throughout halls.

  • There are three useable Ethernet ports on the bottom of the device that are used to connect wired devices.

  • The port labelled PSE-LAN1 can be used to to connect computers, and register new devices (using your University username and password - How do I do that?).

  • The middle two ports, labelled LAN2 and LAN3 can be used to connect any devices including game consoles and smart TV's that have already been registered. (How do I register the MAC address of my device?).

  • The Pass-Thru port is not used, and has been blocked to prevent accidental usage.
