How do I connect my computer to the University wireless network (Linux)

  • You can set up your computer to use the University wireless network eduroam quickly and easily by using the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool

  • Staff devices that are NOT centrally managed will have internet access only when connecting to eduroam and will need to connect to the GlobalProtect VPN service for full access to AU resources.

Or you can use the manual instructions:

  • Open WI-FI settings on your device, and double click on eduroam from the list of available networksWiFi settings in Ubuntu
  • Confirm that the security settings on your device are the same as below
    Authentication settings in Ubuntu
  • Set WI-FI security to: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
  • Set Authentication to: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Tick No CA certificate required
  • Set Inner/secondary authentication type to: MSCHAPv2
  • Enter your full AU email address and password
  • Click connect
