How do I use the Merlin Elite Pro magnifier in Hugh Owen Library Carrel E1?
This magnifier is available to use in Carrel E01 in the Hugh Owen Library

Using the equipment
- When you press the power button you are automatically in live mode
- In this mode you can place a book on the tray and use the dial on the screen or the remote to zoom in and out.
- The tray moves in and out and left and right when the handle is pushed in.
- You can take a picture by removing the panel on the remote and holding the camera button.
Press the centre button on the monitor to switch to OCR mode.
Align the page with the bounding box then press the centre button on the remote.
(If the panel has been taken off the controller, you will need to press the OCR button instead)
It will process the page then start reading, you can control this using the remote.
With the cover on, the controller is in basic mode
The middle button can be held in to zoom out to find something, and will then return to previous zoom level.
The wheel on the right labeled Markers can be used to change reading speed for the text to talk. This wheel can also be clicked in to delete saved pages or images.
Button 5 is used to start processing the OCR
Hold the library button to view images and pages previously saved.
