How do I check I am running a current version of an operating system (Windows)?

• If the start button at the bottom-left of your screen looks like this, you are using Windows 7:
  
  • Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 on 14/01/2020 and it should no longer be used
• If you are not using Windows 7, open About Settings by clicking this link
  • If the link above doesn't work, Click the Start button, click the Settings gear/cog icon then select System and About
• Check your Windows specifications for an Edition and Version
  
• Check your edition and version of Microsoft Windows is supported using their lifecycle fact sheet web page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet
• Microsoft Windows will download and install updates automatically. You can manually run Windows Update if you'd prefer to do this
