How can I arrange for students or staff based outside the UK to access Box of Broadcasts content?
Aberystwyth University is taking part in a pilot to permit access to Box of Broadcasts content to students and staff based outside the UK.
There are some limits about what can be shared with students and staff based outside the UK
- Do not include, "feature films produced after 1st Jan 2000, or culturally sensitive topics.
- Curated playlists consisting solely of films are subject to limitations. Learning on Screen guidelines and review process will be in place to maintain content quality". (See part 4 of the pilot guidelines)
Learning on Screen have also released this video which shows how to share content with students and staff outside the UK, or you can follow these instructions:
- Click My Bob, Playlists then New Playlist
- Add a name to the playlist and choose a subject area
- Tick the Global enabled box under Territory settings
- Click Create Playlist
To add content to the playlist
- Search for a programme you want to share (How do I do that?)
- Click the title, click the Add to Playlist button, begin typing the name of the playlist and select it when it shows in the menu, then click Add
You can copy the playlist web address from your browser and paste it to share with students, for example in a module reading list in Aspire (How do I do that?)
