How do I find out the MAC address of my computer? (Windows)

  • Search for "settings" in the search bar at the bottom of your screen

  • Open the Settings app
  • In the window that opens, select Network & internet from the options on the left

  • For WiFi (wireless connections):
    • Select WiFi
    • Select Hardware properties
    • Find the Physical address (MAC)
  • For Ethernet (wired connections):
    • Select Ethernet on the left hand side
    • Select the dropdown next to the connection name to open details about it (one may already be open by default)
    • Find the Physical address (MAC)
  • MAC addresses are always twelve characters long, and only contain numbers and certain letters (A, B, C, D, E, and F)
    • They may also be broken up by colons or hyphens for readability, e.g. 00:AA:35:DB:F0:1E
