How do I edit a document in SharePoint?

  • Browse to find your document
  • Click on the document you wish to edit
  • It will open in Word or Excel online as appropriate
  • To make changes you need to click on Edit Document or Edit Workbook
  • You can then choose to edit your document in Word or in Browser (or Excel or Browser)

  • If you are using Excel or Word Online your changes are automatically saved. If you are using Excel or Word on your machine then you will need to Save before closing
