How do I check why I cannot log into Blackboard?
If you cannot log into Blackboard:
- Check your Internet connection is working
- If you see the error message : An error occurred while the system was processing this login request
- Check you do not include the @aber.ac.uk when you enter your username
- If you see the error message: Valid authentication credentials were not provided
- Check the password you are using is correct, How do I do that?
- If you are trying to connect from your own computer, see How do I access Blackboard
- Try accessing Blackboard from a University Computer Room, Where can I find these?
- If when you click the 'login to Blackboard' link, you receive a blank white page:
- Check that the address bar contains only the text https://blackboard.aber.ac.uk
- Then hit return and the page will display
- Delete all cookies and temporary internet files, How do I do that?
- If you see the error message: No authentication credentials were provided with the request
This may mean that you do not have 'active scripting' enabled on your browser. This must be turned on for the login procedure to work correctly, How do I do that?
- AOL users - Blackboard recommends that AOL users should connect to the Internet as normal using AOL and then access Blackboard from an 'external' (outside the AOL) browser such Internet Explorer, Netscape, or Firefox.

If you have checked all of the above and are still having problems please contact the Blackboard Team, How do I do that?
