Why is my word count different in Turnitin? (Student)

When submitting your Turnitin assignment, the word count provided during the submission process may differ from the word count in your original assignment file. This is because:

Turnitin's word count does not count the words in textboxes, footnotes, and endnotes.

Turnitin will count each separate word within a URL, however a PDF or Word document will count a URL as one word.
