Access the site where you want to add the page in your preferred web browser
If you have edit permissions on the site you will see a ‘+ New’ link at the top left of the page
Click on ‘+ New’ and select ‘Page’
On the ‘Page templates’ screen choose your starting point – ‘Blank’ is the basic template which is used most often but you can try out the others if you wish
Click the Create page button on the bottom right of the screen to continue
At the top of the screen is an area where you can add an image if you wish and can adjust how the top of the page is displayed
To add or edit the image, click on the image icon at the top left of the page
Choose your image from either:
Recent – recently used images
Stock images – a collection of free to use images covering a wide range of topics. You can search for a keyword to find suitable images
Web search (not recommended)
OneDrive – this allows you to choose an image that is stored on your personal OneDrive
Site – this allows you to browse the folders on your site to find an image that is stored there
Upload – this allows you to upload an image from your computer
From a link (not recommended)
You can change the focal point of the image by dragging the focal point icon that appears over the image
You can change the style of the header by clicking on ‘Overlap’ and selecting one of the other options (Image and title, Plain, or Color block)
Add the title of the page in the ‘Add a title’ area
If you don’t wish to have your name at the top of the page or want to change it to someone else, mouse over and click the x that appears on the right of your name
Page content
Your page will have at least one text area to begin with. If that’s all you need just create your content within this box
If you need other sections on the page (web parts) you can add them by putting your mouse above or below existing content so that a + symbol appears, click on the + and choose the type of content you wish to add.
