How do I use the remote AStRA service?

AStRA can only be used while connected to the university network. When off-campus, you will need to connect to VPN

• Visit https://rds.aber.ac.uk/rdweb
• Log in to the site:
  • In the username box, enter pau\ followed by your username e.g. if your username is abc1, enter pau\abc1
  • Use your regular university IT account password
    
• Click AStRA to download a shortcut
  
• The website will download a file which you can use to access AStRA
  
• When you open the shortcut, you will be asked to log in:
  • click More choices at the bottom then Use a different account
    
    
  • In the username box, enter pau\ followed by your username e.g. if your username is abc1, enter pau\abc1
  • Use your regular university IT account password and click OK
    
• You can copy this file to your desktop and use it to access AStRA in future without re-visiting the site. You can rename the file by right-clicking on it and choosing the Rename option
