How do I read and print from a VLeBooks e-book I have found in Primo?
To read an ebook from VLeBooks
- Sign in to Primo before conducting any search for Online Resources.
- Find the book that you want to read in Primo, click Online access then click the ebook link. in this case: VLeBooks:
- A new window will take you to the ebook. Click Read Online
- Or click Download for offline reading.
- Please note that to read downloaded VLeBooks on your PC, Mac, or mobile device you must have already loaded suitable reader software and registered with Adobe: Install Adobe Digital Editions
To listen online using Read&Write screen reader:
- First install the extension Read&Write for Chrome, Edge or Firefox if you do not already have it
- The first time you use the extension you will need to click Microsoft and sign in using your Aberystwyth University account details
- Open the ebook
- Click Settings in the top right-hand corner
- Click Profile
- Select Enable Accessibility Mode and then Save Changes
- Return to the Ebook Central ebook and click the Read&Write extension symbol to make the toolbar visible
To Print from a VLeBooks e-book
- In order to comply with copyright law, the publisher will only allow you to print a certain percentage of the e-book.
- Select Print from the tool bar
- A message will appear to say how many pages you could print from the book.
- Enter the page numbers you want to print, then click on Print. Make sure printer name BlackandWhite on papercut1.pau.local is selected, then click Print
- Your selected pages should be ready to print.
