What should I do if I'm leaving (students)?

Once your period of registration as a student has ended you will no longer have access to your University computing account ( When will this be? ) or University network facilities.

 Before your account locks you must:

  • Return all items you have out on loan You can check which these are by signing into Primo and clicking on My Account. You will be invoiced for any items that are not returned.
  • Clear all your fines and outstanding debts Please check My Account on Primo for any outstanding debts. You should pay all outstanding debts, including any invoices issued to you ( How do I do that? )
  • Be aware that your access to online library resources will end During your time as a student here, you have had access to a range of online library resources including e-books, full-text journal articles and databases via annual subscription from the University library budget. After you graduate your access to these resources will end. Please be aware that although you may have discovered these resources via a third party such as Google Scholar, the full-text will no longer be available via the University subscription.
  • Make a copy of your University filestore (M Drive)
    If you want to keep a copy of your files you will need to archive them, for example to USB drive or CD ( How do I do that? )
  • Back up documents and assignments from Blackboard?
    Access to Blackboard will cease once your account locks so please ensure you back up any documents or assignments you wish to keep ( How do I do that? )
  • Change your contact email address
    If you have used your Aberystwyth University email address as the contact email address for anything e.g. on your CV, your bank account, paypal you need to change this as soon as possible. Once your account locks you will no longer be able to access your AU email.
  • Archive your University email
    If you want to keep a copy of your emails you will need to archive them ( How do I do that? )
  • Check your Printing/Photocopying credit
    You can check your printer credit balance by visiting the printer credit webpage. You can ask for any unused credit to be refunded ( How do I do that? )
  • Check your alumni email address
