What should I do if I am leaving? (Student)

Once your period of registration as a student ends, you will no longer have full access to your University IT account or University network facilities.

Please see our FAQ for information on when your University account will close

You should:

• Return all items you have out on loan and clear any library fines and/or outstanding debts
  You can check for these by signing into Primo, clicking on your name in the top right and choosing My Library Account. You can find information on returning your Library Loans and paying your library fines in our FAQS
  
  
• Empty your library locker, if you have one, and return the key to the Library
  
  
• Back up your University filestore (M Drive)
  If you want to keep a copy of files stored on your M drive you will need to copy them to a new location, for example to your personal cloud storage or USB drive. 
  
  
• Back up your any files stored in your AU OneDrive account
  If you want to keep a copy of files stored on your AU OneDrive account you will need to copy them to a new location, for example to your personal cloud storage or USB drive.
  
  
• Back up documents and assignments from Blackboard
  You made need to make reference to assignments or dissertations / major projects in the future. We strongly recommend that you download all work you have submitted during your time at the university, before you graduate. 
  
  
• Change your contact email address
  If you have used your Aberystwyth University email address as the contact email address for anything e.g. on your CV, your bank account, paypal you need to change this as soon as possible. Once your account locks you will no longer be able to access your AU email.
  
  
• Archive your University email
  If you want to keep a copy of your University emails you will need to archive them to a new location.
  
  
• Check your Aber Card credit
  You can request a refund of an remaining Aber Card credit by logging in to the refund portal
