How do I find full-text articles using bibliographic databases?

  • To find full-text articles using bibliographic databases (or resource website) first Login.
In this example I'm using JStor. Some websites have a note saying access provided by Aberystwyth University, like the example below, and some you can Login 'Via your institution'.
If you're not on campus you will need to follow the instructions here: How do I access e-resources off campus?

  • Then search for the article by Title, subject or author. For full-text articles only, click Content I can access
to view articles you have full access to

  • Scroll to find the article you're looking for, and click either Read Online or Download PDF

  • For some databases/ websites we have full access to articles, but not all of them. For example this is Web of Science.
  • In the example below, we have full access to the first article if you click Full Text from Publisher. In the second article we only have the option to View Abstract. This gives you a short paragraph or excerpt

  • It is possible that we may have the print copy of the journal in the library, in which case click this link on how to find them How do I find journals in Primo?
